Day 31, 32 and 33

Oh no falling behind in my posts! Sorry gang. I got caught up with closing out the quarter at work. It left me with little free time this week.

Wow feeling the burn now!! The exercises are something else.  4 40 second planks! I had rug burn on my elbows from grinding them on the carpet. They go nicely with the bruises from jumping rope all down my right arm ha ha!

Speaking if jumping... I have been alternating my front and back yard for completing these but one of the cars in our drive way was parked funny so I did all my jumps on day 30 on the slanty side of the drive way. After my ankle felt weird but I ignored it.

I did day 31's jumps after work as the cough meds made it too hard to get up early. So I had a full day and a half of rest in between sets. I could only do 300 before my ankle was just throbbing. I couldn't follow through with the rest. I gently wrapped up strength and took some ibuprofen.

The next day I could only get through  700 and was limping after. Today I decided to just go for a walk. Towards the end my ankle started in again. Dang!!! This is crucial, I am hoping that if I do a walk tomorrow it will have been long enough for it to heal. I'm also going to try and look for some new shoes. Mine are a few months old but perhaps I need something with more support?

On a brighter note. I got through my slump from day 30. I'm back in the game and ready to take it on!! Strength has turned into my favorite part of the mornings. Mostly however the feeling right after my last set of reps from the last exercises.

Laying there in a sweaty heap. Just knowing it is over and I got through it makes me feel proud and exhilarated.

Diet is going steadily. Today was rough when after my PCP lunch my family put down a huge assorted cheese cake in front if me. I stayed strong and didn't have one, but man it looked awesome! On the down side, last evening I had a drink. Well to be honest I had two drinks (low cal and vodka, not that that justifies it) and a single shot. I am a little disappointed in myself for not staying strong. But it was a blast none the less and I ended up dancing all evening (and into the early morning) with my Mom my dancing buddy Sara and two of my coworkers one who lives back in my home state Vermont :) fun, fun times! I think I sweated out or danced a billion calories....

Alright, good night everyone! I'm
Going to catch some zzz's so I am able to get a head start on the work out and walk!!!

Posted week 4 pics. Im down another pound starting today!

Bring it week five!!

  1. Dancing all night sounds really awesome, but make sure you get some REST too! I think you need to actually schedule it or it gets cut.

Such an awesome job on the cheesecake naysaying and congrats to ya on the weight loss. Let's rock on for the next week!

  3. yooo...top compliments on resisting the cheesecake gravitational pull...think a spoonful of that has to be up there for the next indulgence. as for the alcohol I would not worry too much about it..looks like you burnt it off. I have to say that since PCP have been seriously put off by alcohol...and I could have easily gone through a full bottle of wine and 12 cocktails on a strong night. i think is more a social experience and an association of the fun and activity (socialising, dancing etc) with teh drink. But deep down, it is very much an acquired taste.

Really glad you got over the day 30 slump. After coming back from London only just catching up on old posts so just as well you fell behind on publishing! :)

You are doing very well, and in adverse circumstances (cold, sore ankle..) just think how much easier it will be soon when you get over those.

Also i find that motivationally associating the workout with the meal afterwards works very well when I do not feel i have the strength to do the workout I think, if I get through this I have a nice tasty meal after this and I will enjoy the sense of accomplishment. One of my favourite parts of the day is having my poached egg on a toast of wholemeal bread brushed with garlic and a side serving of steamed potatoes, whilst still sweaty and regaining my breath. Egg yolk running over the toast and potatoes has never felt better..

    keep up the good work!!
